I'm a little worried...

Mizar 21 Apr 25, 2004 08:58 AM

For the last two days, my gecko eat a lot less as usual. Last night he comes out of hiding very late and he was all whitish. He eat just one crix. He was acting kinda strange, he was rubbing his face on the side of his hiding spot, and he squirm a lot. Is this a normal shedding pattern ? I increase the humidity in his humid hide. This morning, i cant see him, he's hiding under some layer of clothes in his hiding place. I cant find any skin in the enclosure. Is he supposed to have shed last night ? If tonight he is still whitish, should i help him ? Any hint is appreciated, its his first shed and i'm a bit nervous. I had some problem with my snake's first shed

sounds like normal shedding behavior to me! You shouldn't find any skin...they eat it. He probably got all of the skin off himself, but if he has any left on him you will have to help get it off by giving him a 15 min soak in warm water and then using a wet q-tip to roll it off

It probably isnt clothes.... maybe he means cloths. Or paper towels or something. Patience is a virtue when it comes to interacting with people whos first language is not english (i know this because i am becoming a teacher of English to speakers of other languages.) Sometimes you have to be imaginative with what people say.

no problem, youre doing great. What is your first language. I am curious about it because I am going into the field of teaching english as a second languge, and i just love this kind of thing.
