I am in process of moving and had left my 18 (5 adults, 13 juveniles) rats at someones art studio temporarily (in Maryland). Someone, not realising their situation was temporary (caging and setup for travel etc.) and thinking that they were "snake food" stole all of them. I am at a total loss as to what to do. The police are involved because it is a theft, but I am not sure how far they will get, and I can't seem to get anywhere with my searches. The funny thing was that they had been intended as feeders, but I had gotten attached and had found myself unable to use these particular rats. I thought I would post here because this forum has always been a great one and I thought maybe someone else has had their animals "rescued" from them or has some ideas for how I can handle this. I would greatly appreciate any help.
