Hi- I need to get a copy of that book myself. I heard its a excellent book and does have a section on Candoia. I dont know how extensive he goes into them though. In the yahoo group site I have listed quite a few books, journal articles, magazine articles ect.. I think I am about the only one to list all these in one place. I have more coming and a few more to list as I get time. Check the files section at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pacificislandboas
Hopes this helps you out Randy

its pretty interesting. I definately recommend it. There are not too many books out there with some info on the subject of Candoia so by getting it I think you'll be a little better off than not having it. Although it doesn't really provide too much detailed info. It reminds me more of the N. American Conant field guide than anything else...but maybe not as specific....But then again, I'm not going to those islands anytime soon so actual data may not really apply.lol. Still, its interesting for providing some natural history. I only picked it up b/c I met Mark O'Shea and had him sign it. It did provide some interesting reading though on many other snakes in the pacific island region. Lots of nice pics too. I tell ya what, after reading it I wanted a Boelens python....only to look further into it and find major disappointment since no one has really successfully bred them in the U.S....its an odd & rare species. I think someone last posted a pair for $6000....ouch.
I think what Mark O'Shea did was write a book where there was none and I could see potential for someone else following up with his work years down the road and updating it. I give it two thumbs up!
