LT and Haggis would like to announce....

DC Apr 25, 2004 10:43 AM

...a REALLY bad photo of their firstborn! Persistance pays, I had a hatch from one of my "good" eggs this morning. The hatchling is VERY strong and active, so much so that I don't want to risk moving him to better light for a photo, as even with the egg shell still on his rear, he is pretty FAST LOL. Time to look for pinheads!

...back when these were laid, I had been using a laying media of sand mixed with bit of a sterile peat product, which I had hoped would retain the moisture content better (longer) than sand alone. It made the shells look a bit "dirty" rather than pure white. I quit using it, since the little roto-tillers churned it into the rest of the viv and made all the substrate too dusty after it dried out.

the eggs always looks a crappy color. Mine never stay white. Maybe I should switch to All Temperature Cheer?
