My Favorite Female from Last Year!!!

John Q Apr 25, 2004 11:21 AM

My larger female breeder will usually double clutch and am I glad she did last year. Her second clutch, last egg to hatch out produced this little girl. She was on the small side but worth the extra effort to get her started. I always start with frozen thawed, not live, and not scented. I had to start with day old pinks from siamese mice. These mice are much smaller than the common white mice and their babies are easier to feed to small hatchlings. She's currently feeding on two pinks per week. 7 day old pinks from common white mice.
Hope you like the pics.

No flash with this pic so it's a little darker.

Is the dam "banded" also? If so, to what degree?
Just curious,
Scott

Neither of the parents showed banding. Last year I used one male exclusively with three different females. I am doing the same this year with two females. The female that produced this banded hatchling is gravid and should double clutch. Just hoping that it is genetic and more banded or semi-banded hatchlings are produced.
