alfafla based pellets (for rabbits, gps, etc) might be useful. a split water bowl or urates/poop would be a mess, yick, but is he 'trained' to go in the water/bath?
i use towels in my igs enclosure

Hi!

We have built new cages all decorated with trees vines plants etc. For the substrate we just have a green commercial indoor outdoor carpet. It is made so mud and stuff is easy to clean off of it so of course if your ig uses the bathroom on it you can usually wipe it right up if caught soon enough (ours are mostly tub trained). Plus you can shop vac it to keep any pieces of food or stuff swept up! We also machine wash ours when actually dirty

Just toss 'em in bleachy water for disinfecting, and rinse off. Maybe try linoleum if you want a really together look, but Bud walks on the ground of the cage a lot, and doesn't like to scrabble with his claws.
