fecals run anywhere from $10-$45 depending on the vet. They are usually not covered my those med plans as it is a part of a standard exam. most of those insurance plans only cover illness and accidents not regular vet visits for check-ups. You should get your BD checked 2x a year. If they find a problem, that would be covered. What is the deductable though?

unplanned vet visits could be for impaction, cuts and bruses, burns, malnutrition... things that can generally be avoided with proper husbandry.

You may have unavoidable expensive treatments for worms and bacteria. Cancer and other serious problems may not be treatable. Find out what it covers.

I can't find the paperwork right now, but it cost us several hundred dollars between emergency vet and follow-up visits and medications when our beardie developed coccidia and some other type of worm. OTOH, even $7/mo. adds up over the years, and chances are that not everything is covered anyway (plus deductibles maybe?), and you may get lucky.
