luna is eating...question

lele Apr 25, 2004 03:38 PM

Hi all,

for those of you who are familiar with Luna's gravid/not gravid saga: I offered her food yesterday and she actually ate 2 waxworms and one butterworm (first food in almost 2 weeks). I offered again today and she ate 2 waxworms and 5 small crickets (1/2" maybe). Then she was done. Because of her "condition" can I continue to offer and just let her take what she wants? I know not to stuff her, but she seems to know when to stop. I just don't feel she's been getting her nutrients esp. calcium and I am really afraid of dystocia considering her reabsorption(?) or whatever her little body has gone thru.

As always, help appreciated!

Hey Lele,
I'd let Luna eat whatever she wants as long as it's nutritious. I always keep feeding all my gravid veileds until they won't eat & start to show signs of being ready to lay.
Most of the time, they'll drink more water than usual after they stopped eating.
Hope this helps,
Cricket
