At what age can hatchlings be sold?

Tigergenesis Apr 25, 2004 05:23 PM

I've always wondered if breeders what until a certain age to begin selling newly born snakes? Or do they wait after the first shed, feeding, etc?

A lot of it has to do with feeding and shedding. I am sure some wait for specific periods, but a lot of the ads and such are of snakes that "have eaten at least 3 times" or something of that nature.

Reputable breeders will make sure the hatchling has fed at least once on it's own (some will even supply a feeding record). If not, they will advise of any problem. Non feeding babies are purchased at the buyer's risk.
