Jackson's Back Leg Injured

vferra7777 Apr 25, 2004 05:47 PM

Hello everyone. I have an adult CBB Jackson that was doing very well. Today I saw that his back left leg was up tight to his body and not being used. When I touched it, he opened his mouth and showed a bit of aggression, must be painful. There is no swelling.

He had plastic plants in his screen cage with a LIVE bromeliad. He has UVB 12 hours a day. I took him from that cage to a larger screened cage with only plastic plants. It has been warm in the shop, mid 80s. Otherwise everything seems to be corredt. I had two of them in identical setups. The other one is fine. If any one has any advice please e-mail me at vferra7777@cs.com or call 804.763.4443 and thank you in advance

Is the leg paralyzed or is he simply unwilling to move it? Is the leg crooked or misshapen at all? Sounds like either a break or some type of muscle injury. Might have a vet look at it.
