I have completely forgotten, what is the rule of thumb....

for the size of the housing for a corn snake in comparison to its size? For the life of me, I can't remember!!!! We are needing a bigger home for our king snake and we're thinking it needs to be about the size we got for snow corn.... 20 gallon. We hope that that will be big enuff for her even as she grows!! All help and advice is appreciated. Thanks! Becki

The general rule I am aware of is the lenght of the cage should be 2/3 the length of the snake and the cage width should be 1/3 the length of the snake. A four foot corn or king should be fine in a cage about 30 inches long by about 18 inches wide. A 20 gallon long tank should be fine.

I just make really big cages, four foot wide by two foot deep by two foot tall, and house one or two adults in them....

Dude, if you can weld, you sure can make something like this. It was too easy, and it only cost $150. I'm sure if you wanna avoid wood, you could do a little something with metal...here's my other cage.
