I've been having problems with my UTH the past couple of days...I came back after a shopping trip today and the thermometer read 112 F in my horus' hide spot!! I'm not sure if my thermostat is broken or the heater its self is malfuntioning? what should I do? Obviously I can't leave him alone for long with the heater plugged in

if your UTH is not hooked up to something like a lamp dimmer or a rheostat can get higher than that.

Try getting a new battery and if thats not it, lower your dimmer or rheostat.

I have the UTH hooked up to a rheostat, but even when its set at the lowest setting it still got that hot. Guess I'll have to go out and buy a new one then.
