How to get my veiled to eat his veggies

I have tried everything. Those veggie clips, I even made him a little salad with crickets mixed in. I saw that he got a piece of carrot in his mouth but then he clawed it out. Is there anything else I can do.

i hold the piece of lettuce up with tongs to his mouth, he opens his mouth to hiss kindof, and i stick it in his mouth....then the next time i hold it up he goes for it!!!
