My new Cal King...any guess on age?

Tigergenesis Apr 25, 2004 08:37 PM

Just picked this little cutie up today. It's supposedly a female, weighs 20 grams and is about 17-18 inches long. The person I bought her from says she had her for about 2 1/2 months (she bought/traded for her). She's been feeding 1 F/T pinkie every week. Any guesses on approximate age?

Thanks for looking!

That is a beautiful snake. I really like the picture of it sticking its head out the coconut. You're really lucky to have such a snake in my opinion. As for age, I'm not qualified to comment.

Thank you! I couldn't pass her up. Her white is so bright and she's so cute. When I ask the person selling her to let me hold her, she said "Watch out, she's very nippy but she hasn't actually bit yet". She's been pretty docile with me. I think she was a good buy and I'm happy with her.

Thats about yearling size but it could be older depending on how well or not well it was fed. My guess is its not older than 2 years old.

I would say she's an '03. I have a blotched king that is bigger than that. I had one cal king that hatched at 14 inches from a humongous egg. She is VERY pretty!

>> weighs 20 grams

well, honduran milksnakes are bigger than cal kings when they hatch, but they weigh 17-24 grams at hatching. so I'd guess yours is an '03.
