Hey everyone,
Ive always been interested in getting a large boa species or python but never went ahead and did it. My largest snake as of now is a 5-6 foot Dummi. Im thinking of purchasing a burm or retic at a show this up coming saturday. How are the guys with taming. What size enclosure and needs will the snake have to have? How BIG do these guys get? Any help is appreciated thanks

burms are good because there smaller then retics the females get about 20ft and the males get about 15ft they tame easily if held 4-5 times a week as babies they will need a hiding place large water bowl and a cage about 8x6x5 will be good for two or three and a cage about 6x4x4 will be good for one adult all in all they are great snakes to have as a pet hope it helps and if i missed anything or got something wrog please corect me

Hey my name is shane to. Anyways I would suggest a burm. they are much calmer and eaiser to handel and clean my retics are poop factories. I would suggest a very small but healthy burm so you can watch them grow and so that you can set patters with feeding and handling while they are small and so they become use to you sooner.

I would suggest avoiding burms and retics until you get more experience with large boids. Maybe a BCC or the like? Its a huge jump (no pun intended) up to a burm. A female burm can attain 12 feet in 2 to 3 years without being powerfed. Id move up gradually if I were you but thats just my opinion.

i had gotten three burms after i only had experince with balls and corns it was stuiped i know but it worked i since sold them and started over again

No offense but Id think the fact that you don't have them anymore demonstrates that you weren't ready for them. Dont get me wrong, Im not the soapbox type but the majority of people arent ready for burms.

maybe you should go with a yellow andaconda they ony get about 12 feet
