biggworm Apr 25, 2004 11:29 PM

I just came from the new snake show in California.Good show!!lot's of red bloods(brongismai).LLL was there with their CAPTIVE HATCHED BANKA'S.Let me tell you, beauties. They still have two left.Siblings to my female. So if you want some Banka's ,CALL!I almost picked both of them up myself, except I picked up another blood from Howard from Reptile Fanatics in Flagstaff,AZ.I can't tell you how happy I am with this female.Turns out she is the granddaughter to the red female on the VPI site.3rd page in the blood pyhon gallery under(RED LILLY).This girl is gonna be OX BLOOD red(HOPEFULLY)and a really black head. She's only a yearling and showing lot's of promise.Sorry no PICS yet till next week.I'm letting her acclimate,i'm just gonna leave her alone. Thanks for listening.

Congrats, there seems to be alot of bloods and st's on the classifieds but at the yearly show here there not so easy to come by... I had a bit of bad luck this year with some I picked up. Anyways good luck with her and I'm sure you'll be on those pics soon

How do you know that those are Bangkas?
I heard there were only very few brought in to the US Captive hatched?

Maro what's up,I have a good friend named Maro.Anyway the pattern of Banka's are usually more melty and they are usually brighter red as adults. As neonates their head structure tend to be more elongated.Sumatrans seem to have meatyier heads. This is however entirely my own oppinion. Also when Bushmaster Reptiles imported a bunch of adult banka's in,they also brought in CAPTIVE HATCHED.That whole clutch happened to go to LLL Reptile in california. So those are it.My next post is of my beautiful sumatran from N.E.R.D.Maybe you might be able to detect the subtle differences.
