Wooden tank problem

Schwan Jun 15, 2003 11:12 AM

so i have this wooden tank...about the equivalent of a 180 gallon...and i have been using repti-carpet as my substrate. i want to switch to sand--or crushed oats? is that what it is? where do you get that stuff?--but should i get a liner? like some plastic something? where would i get something like that?

thanks...

For the flooring, it'll depend on the what there is now. If it is just bare wood, then you should put some kind of a finish on it. You can use various things... lacquer, a sheet of counter top, non-toxic paint, or you can even just put the repti-carpet back on. You can get most of these items at the local hardware or pet supply store.

For the substrate, some of the *generally* accepted ones are children's pre-washed playsand (Toys-R-US, Wal-Mart, HomeDepot), wheat bran (natural food store, feed store), rabbat pellets, and, soil and sand mixture.
