HELP ESCAPED LEO!!!!!

sirfugu Apr 26, 2004 08:56 AM

I went to check on my leo before school only to find him missing. I dont know what to do. i didnt even go to school today cause i have been searching all over for him. I dont know how he couldnt have made it out but was wondering where an escaped leo would go. ive searched my room over and over. Any ideas at all would be helpful.

He's probably hiding underneath something, where it's dark and pretty quiet, and he's probably sleeping right now.

My leos, when they get out, almost ALWAYS hide under the entertainment center. It's like the local hang-out spot lol. You might need to get someone to come and help you lift up big furniture while the other looks underneath & grabs.

Good Luck!

Don't worry, same thing happened to me. One got out and i was up alll night looking, and when i was about to turn in i saw him running behind my bed. They are actually very fast, and they'll go somewhere dark and warm. Just give it some time, they've been known to live for months after escaping and then they'll suddenly show up somewhere. Just check around, and don't panic.

I'm starting to think he didnt even get out at all. I have a jungle gym like thing for him to climb on in his cage and after putting in the new tile into his enclosure it wasnt flush with the bottom, there was a crevice there that may have been big enough for him to get through. The whole thing is hollow and there are numerous places he could be hiding that i acnt see or get to. Ive searched but havent seen him yet. I have a light out and some mealworms loose in his cage. Hopefully tonite he will return. Also think it is unlikely he is loose because my dresser is 5 ft tall and the drop from the top of his cage would have been over 6 ft. not sure he coulda made that drop. Im going to keep looking thanks for the suggestions.

Trust me, they can survive that 6 foot drop. Have you ever accidentally dropped one? Or had one jump out of your hands? I have, and I'm almost 6 feet tall (lol my poor boyfriend is about an inch shorter than I am)... They've always survived with no major stress.

If you're not sure if he's in the jungle gym, you need to take it apart until you find him, and, to prevent future heart attacks and confusion, don't make the jungle gym so that you can't find him! bad bad bad lol I mean, I'm sure the leo is very happy, but if you can't find him.. ack!
