NEW MORPH? new baby looks unlike any morph ive seen before

riiotgrrl Apr 26, 2004 11:33 AM

I have a new leo. I know, i know i said i would only have one, but this one is INCREDIBLE. I have never seen any thing like her before. I dont have a pic, yet but maybe from my description yous guys can help?
Ok, so picture a normally patterned baby leo. dark head, white collar, dark neck, 3 dark bands with yellow inbetween, then the normmal tail bands....ok, now picture this leo with all that but instead of black, all of the bands are a uniform mauve, with no black. The yellow is pale, and above the eyes is a blue shade. I was thinking albino, but i have seen TONS of albinos through shows and at the petstore i used to work at. They were pink and yellow. no purple. and the baby has albino eyes. Well, they are kind of silvery.
i have never seen anything like this before. From my description does anyone have any idead? She shed the other day and there is still no black, her yellow just got a bit brighter. It is so weird./......please give me ideas and i will get a pic asap. thanks.

I would love to see a picture of this little one! By what you are describing, it does sound like it could be and albino that was incubated at a low temprature. There really isn't a true morph called a "chocolate albino"... it is just a term that some breeders are using to sell their darker colored babies. Many times, these albinos grow up to be quite lovely... like you said, a kind of mauve color with yellow!

I would guess a dark albino, too.
Or posably a hypo, sometimes there bands are very light.

This sounds normal to me. Mine looked kind of like that, not so purple though. I've heard of it being a purplish color, and i've seen some babies like that, i thought it was normal. There is no blue shading above the eyes, this is simply because you can see it's eyeball through the skin because it is so thin there. To me it sounds like somewhere inbetween normal and dark albino.. not sure though, i'm no expert

It kinda sounds like patternless/leusistic to me.
