My landlord thinks this is a baby copperhead but i have read about the copperhead and the colors don't match up. Plus the baby copperhead is said to have a yellow tail which this snake does not. Can anyone tell me what kind of snake this is?

Thats because its not a copperhead. It looks like a baby black rat snake (Elaphe obsoleta) Its non venemous.
