red eft care

Hi all,

I live in NH and while out walking in the rain I nearly stepped on this little fella! it was on the side of the road and I gently nudged it to send it in the right direction. Well, he seems a little disabled. All his toes, feet etc. are in place but he keeps falling to one side I thought I would keep him for a few days and then release him. I would like to draw him, too so that is another reason I'd like him arund for a while.

I would like some input as to the best set up. I know at this stage they don't spend time in the water but I am sure I would still need to have some in his tank - not sure about depth. Also, is tap water OK? What about feeding?

Any help and photos of setup much appreciated. Btw, I keep other herps so I have lots of empty tanks around to set him up in

Ok, a 10 gallon tank is good enough for like 10 efts. Have the substrate to be soil, on one side have quite a few leaves that are kept moist for hiding. Have a few flat rocks, a water bowl or two just incase they make a sudden change into adulthood. They eat earthworms, mealworms and small crickets. I can't help you with how to attempt to feed them, you can help yourself on that.
