Love taps from Tempest, I should have grabbed my camera

Today I had the day off, so I decided it was time to spring clean Tempest's enclosure, give it a really good scrub from top to bottom so its done. Well, he is feeling springtime too! The usual tail whips I can deal with, but today he whipped around and really nailed me with his teeth when I took him out, which hasn't happened in over a year and a half!! Surprised me, thats for sure. Well over 20 holes down one side of my hand, and an inch long gash that goes down to my knuckle bone on my finger, bled like anything, picked a couple of teeth out of the deep one too. Silly boy! At least he had a nice long soak in the tub, and now he has a nice clean cage, even if he did turn bright orange with indignation!

Naw, its not his fault really, I pushed things. I've worked with animals for years, most of them not overly handled or abused, in lab and vet situations at the local university. I learned a long time ago, just take the bite, suck it up, and wait for them to let go! Sounds bad, but if you get all high or strung out, or pull away, it ends up about 10x worse : I have to say my knuckle is twice the size of the others this morning tho, grrrr!
