More hatchling help

Melle Apr 26, 2004 04:54 PM

Hello,

My hatchling who just hatched a few nights ago is still pretty much the same. although it seems like its belly is sunken in and his back feet dont want to walk straight . he can still get around, but he is really not moving much. Im worried, i really want the little dude to make it. is it normal for their back legs to not exactly work right for a few days or what? I wish i could show you pics.

Well, thanks for any replies.

It sounds like MBD from maybe not getting enough calcium from the mother when the egg was inside of her. You need to supply it with a constant amount of calcium to try and have a chance at helping this little one.

Thanks,
So should i maybe put some calcium powder on its nose and make sure he is licking it? The only way i can think of, since it wont eat yet.

Ya!, you could try to mix some in water and then drip it on it's nose and see if it will lick it, and if it will you can try it more than once a day.
