To answer Jim's question. I have had female H.h.exasperatum, as well as H.h.horridum lay eggs that have hatched at a little over two and one half years old. from picking one up that size,I would say they weighed around 2.5 to 3 lbs. Keep in mind these animals were fed large meals(for their size)once a week from birth. I would call this a sub adult . In my opinion you'd be better served breeding your females at three and one half years, and about 3.5 to 4 lbs. I hope this sheds some light on this subject for you jim.
