westerns can be fed strictly mice right? (more)

i am curious because mine is doing great on mice,,but when i scrolled down on this forum people are talking about anoles and eggs and toads.. any help would be great

Yes.
Western hognoses generally do fine on a strict rodent diet. There is still alot of debate, however, when it comes to easterns and southerns (I have never kept easterns or southerns, so I don't feel qualified to voice an opinion on the subject). When people mention anoles, frogs and eggs, the are most often refering to scenting the mice. Westerns can be stubborn eaters, and somtimes rubbing something else's scent on the mouse can trigger the western to eat the mouse. My westerns have eaten nothing but mice their whole life, but I once had to scent with a toad to get my male to go back on feed.
