Borneo Bat Eaters

snakemastermyke Apr 26, 2004 11:37 PM

I am sure everyone in a hybrid forum knows what a borneo bat eater is. For those new it is a Burm-Retic hybrid that results in a snake that looks a lot like a skinny anaconda. Whats weird to me is that this hybrid has not reached full bloom yet. What I mean is why hasnt anyone mixed an albino burm with an albino retic to make and albino bat eater. Or mix a tiger retic to a burm and see what you get then. Does anyone know if this has been tried?

Do you know if the retic albino gene is the "same" or at least compatible as the burm albino gene? I know some people have talked about how sometimes the albino genes are not compatible between species. If so, that would take a lot more work to make some albinos.

Retics already have both T negative and T positive albino form readily available. It would just be a matter of making sure you match them up right. I have a T negative so I would go T negative. The gene I am more curious about is the Tiger gene. I am curious how that would act on a bat eater.
