Ok...a final setup in my 10 gallon...please tell me what you think...I put some new stuff in there and I think it looks pretty good...

This is the FINAL setup for Spitfire's tank...for now anyway...LOL I do want a background other than plain white paper...lol I got the rock thing on the right side at Petco today for $4 on clearance!!!!! It's got a great "cavity" in it for him to hide to! The thing is great...he was climbing on it earlier, and hiding in it at one point The substrate is just plain white paper, and there's paper towel in 2 places b/c I just set up the tank and I don't know where he's gonna want to go...plus he likes to go all over to begin with...lol...hopefully he'll pick a spot now! Anyway...here's the pics...let me know what you think!

nice setup...wow...u have a bunch of fun stuff in there...my 10 gallon only has a hide a water dish, calcium dish, humid box, and worm dish...so i guess anything looks more elaborate than mine ...i think its best to cover the sides and leave one side open...other than that...i wish i was that gecko

StinaUIUC Apr 27, 2004 01:00 AM

...the sides are covered...lol it's just with white paper instead of something pretty right now...lol The tank is pretty packed with stuff, but I want to be able to use it with him when he's fully grown, and all the stuff provides him a lot of places to hide and climb. Plus I think it looks pretty good with all the stuff He seems to like it so far.

And you say that's a 10 gallon. It looks like he/she has plenty of room. Who's to say a 10 gallon is too small.

now before i knew much about geckos and had my first hi-yellow male....he would always poop in the water which would fustrate me to death because he has a pretty enclsure and the water has poo in it and its all dissolving and stuff....so changed it every single day...until i learned that they pottied only in a certain place....and after i switched the water to the other side...my problems were solved....NOT... my male actually follwed the water or something and pood there..* i had one of those corner dishes that conform with the tank on the corners*...so then i switched to a small water dish which then he left alone....whew....but that was a traumatizing experience...also...i have "litter boxes" for my geckos now..works extremely well for my male and female adults but my baby one is still figuring it out...works well...if u are on paper towels...just have a low cut box filled with sand or any potty medium on the potty corner...and magically...poo poo will be there next day...my friends actually thought i "trained" my geckos...i wish

lol...litter trained geckos...hehe Spitfire's just a pain b/c he refuses to go to the bathroom in the same spot every time...its a HUGE pain! At least if he was going in a water bowl it would be the same place every time...lol
