Last minute substrate question...

triniian Apr 27, 2004 02:42 AM

My new BRB is being shipped today.

Is gardening mulch safe to use as a substrate? Are there any particular types to avoid? Anyone have an experiences?

I am looking to try something different from Turf, Papertowels, and Aspen.

Thanks...

Iman,
. IMO you should use newspaper or papertowels for substrate for the first few months. If anything goes wrong with the new snake you want to have as few variables to consider as possible. After you are certain that the snake is healthy and eating and passing norml looking stools you can try different (prettier) substrates.
