hip-hip-a-tortoise--ray!

anichcha Apr 27, 2004 07:08 AM

hey all, i just got my FIRST sulcata tortoise -- it's about a month old, and i am soooo excited! i've done all the research, and i know how to care for it, but any advice and experience-oriented comments would be greatly appreciated!

also, i am desperately seeking an apt name for my new darling -- i wanted to go with a sub-sahara african name, but my children cannot pronounce any of the names i like! how does "Mr. Magoo" sound? anyone remember the cartoon? i think they look alike, lol! lemme know what y'all think!

love, tortoise-crazed

I think Mr. Magoo is a cute name. Just remember that you won't know the sex of your tort for awhile and it could turn into a Mrs. Magoo! I seem to recall seeing a post recently that had a Molly that turned out to be a boy. We ended up naming one of ours Sam...which could be boy or girl I guess...and the other one is Ella...so hopefully she is a she!!!! Good luck with your new little one!
