I don't have any, but if I did, I'd just feed them cats, dogs, small neighborhood children. It's all the same to a snapper.

A old friend of mine has an ally in a pond out in the Everglades, and all the opposums and raccoons come their to drink... Only the quick usually survive from what he said...

Hey Steve ,
Good to hear from you again !!

I'll get some pictures soon.
My big guys are still weird on the feeding. For one; they never eat anything in front of me. I talked to a few other guys who said their big ones will eat anything they throw in ...right away.
And also, sometimes they eat sometimes they don't . I can throw a bunch of chicken parts in at night, sometimes its all gone in the morning and sometimes nothings gone and the water is all fouled out and I have to clean.

They never touch vegetables or fruit or anything.

Do your big guys eatin Daylight or in front of you?

Mine never do.
Only at night.
Sometimes I wonder if the water is actually too clean or something.
I've talked with other people taht say there giants eat anything they throw in right away.

mine....never

mike, studys on these snappers show them to be mostly nocturnal.so it makes sense alot of them would be shy eaters in the daylight(the older ones)younger ones would probably eat all the time.

Thats what John told me too
My little guys eat front of me.
My big guy is weird. He doesn't like any change at all.
Even if I change the water and clean. He won't eat for a while after that.
He ate a couple pounds of turkey necks one time, then wouldn't touch any of it for a long time.
They really don't like daytime and commotion.
The girl I got from you is getting way better at eating.
She ususally finishes off whatever I put in there.
What an easy going temerament for a snapper too.

How old is the snapper in the pic? I have a yearling, and was wondering how long it will be before I have a 100 pounder

Mine's about 90 pounds right now. I got it from JOhn. He estimated it could be as old as 80 years.
