Shedding question...........

Iguanamom Apr 27, 2004 11:19 AM

Do you guys notice your iggys not eating as well when they are shedding? Ozzy is shedding big time right now and just doesnt seem to be eating near as well as his norm. But it could be due to the recent changes in moving his cage and redoing the inside of it. I think he also seems a bit more irratable. So im trying to mist him more than usual. And may even try to give him a bath today. He loves to be misted, but doesnt seem to impressed with a bath, so we will see how it goes. lol Was just curious if you guys notice the appetite slowing down when yours shed? Thanks Tami

Tempest can be a bit crankier than usual when he's shedding, and he does get fussier with his food. He won't leave food, but he picks out what he likes first, and eats more slowly. He wasn't fond of baths at first either, but now he's quite happy to soak in the tub for half an hour or longer! Yesterday, he hopped out while I was doing his cage, and hopped back in for the first time. One time I looked in, and he'd flattened out a la bearded dragon, underwater right up to his chin!
