Hey so just to let you all know I took your Advice and went out and bougth a new UV lights and Hood for heating today...I put it in and within like 15 seconds he was up and ate a cricket... I don't know if that's a good sign or just a coincidence :D

anyways my question this time is this.

Someone(I can't remember who at the moment i'm writing this) mentioned i should get rid of the heat rock becuase heat needs to come from above... Would this apply to the substrate heater as well? I mean should all the heat come from the lights? or is a combination of the two better?

thanks again
Bhelliom

I agree (or maybe I'm the one that said it, I don't remember either) cut the cord on the heat rock and use it as a basking rock instead. Heat needs to come from above, that's how they sense it, as far as UTH, they are safer than heat rocks but I've never used them on beardies so I don't know if there is any benefit to them.
