if its your first time take it to the vet they will show u how to do it properly couse they have vains in there nails and if u cut them you lizard may bleed to death
CrazyCody
sorry but even if you cut off a toe, it is highly unlikely and near imposable to bleed to death. if it bleeds because you cut to far use a styptic solution available at pet stores and pharmacies to stop bleeding like when you cut yourself shaving.

really i have bin told that if the vain is cut the lizard would bleed to death
CrazyCody
there are a few urban myths floating around about BDs
More things NOT TRUE
worms cannot eat their way out of a BD
dragons will grow based on many things but will not "only grow to the size of their enclosure"
some people say BDs only eat lettuce some say only crix - Wrong on both!
keep asking questions, thats the best way to learn

I have to tell you I hadn't heard the one about the Worms... but i'll be sure to start spreading it around
lol
but seriously
i can understand why people would say that BDs only eat crix or greens... from personal experience ( i realize my little midget is weird)but he honestly has no interest in greens whatsoever... can't make him eat the stuff for the life of me.. maybe he's just taking after his owner (personal quote : "salad isn't food, salad is what food eats"
he only seems to like crix...
anyways just thought i'd toss in my own two cents for what its worth...
Bhelliom
"salad isn't food, salad is what food eats" lmao thats great thats really great my BD eats everything she would eat the glass if she could fit it in her mouth
i have herd of thoughs but new they were false the one with the worms can happen with frogs though i no from experience i seen it happen
CrazyCody
ive had that experience to, i had a green snake and one day the crickets were chewing its head and only half was left. now i hate crix and feed them to venus fly traps and beardies and every torture to them i can do.
I don't clip the nails, I provide plenty of Rock and hard surfaces for my "babies" to climb on. This mimics their natural envirnment and allows their nails to wear down like in nature.
Good Luck
Ken
If you kill it, You better be willing to eat it!
