Is there anything I can do to correct a wrinkled optical scale?

CJWIV Apr 27, 2004 05:39 PM

I have a 1.5 foot Brazilian. When I got it both optical scales were crystal clear. Now the right one is wrinkled slightly and a little opaque. I can still see the pupil and the snake follows movement with the eye alright it seems. There doesn't appear to be any fluid in the eye, and the size and shape are the same as the other eye.
The second time it shed the scale was retained, because my humidity was too low I think,(around 55%). I have corrected the humidity to about 75-80% at all times. The snake has been shedding in one piece since then with both scales coming off. However, the scale remained slightly opaque and wrinkled.
I soaked the snake for 15 minutes and lightly tried to see if there was a retained scale as i've had this problem with a ball python in the past. There seemed to be no retained scale though.
Any ideas as to anything i can do to see both beautiful green eyes clearly again, not to mention so the snake can see clearly again.

Thanks for any help,
Chester

Chester,
. BRBs often have dented brills (the scale covering the eye). The opacity is not normal. It may be caused by an abrasion to the eye or an infection. I have no idea what to do about it.
