I have seen them all...python actually is one of my favorites but python 2 was almost as bad as boa. Anaconda was cool and yes, anacondas live in the jungle all over the amazon river system actually. The films you see in the llanos are because it is much easier to find anacondas in the dry season of the llanos since there is little water for the anacondas to hide and get away....they would never catch an anaconda in the middle of the largest river in the world. "Search for the Giant Green Anaconda" is the coolest documentary I have ever seen. And I think there are only two anacondas in the documentary and one is a young one they find in a large river. They even go exploring rainforest canopy for these big snakes...we all know you will not find them there and he did too...but it made for a cool documentary, If any of you have not seen it, try to...there is a village like floating right int the middle of the amazon river...out of nowhere it just pops up in the middle of the anazon river. and the documentary with renee and jesus, "anaconda: giant snake of the amazon"..we should all own it folks...this shows the HUGE range of the green anaconda. E.Dechauenseii is said to only be found on the marajo island. I actually think the movie anaconda hit it right on...the biggest anacondas are going to be places people are not. Think about it...what do we do when we find a big snake? we can't let something that cool keep its genes in the wild. And like renee said...the large anacondas will be where the food sources are larger...do you find a ton of deer in your back yard or do you find squirels? I bet you at one point there was a ton of deer. And as far as that question...if the snake fights how snakes fight..there is no match...an anaconda attack would be an ambush on the jaguar and once that coil wrapped there really isn't much any animal can do to get out of it if the coil is in the right place. now if the jaguar finds a little male scooting along the grass and wants to ambush that, anaconda has nothing...with this fight it should be all about who hits first and who is huting who. Jaguars are smart enough not to hunt adult anacondas..i believe in the documentary with renee it shows a smaller predatory cat eating a baby anaconda and mentions that this animal would not go near an adult anaconda. it would if it couldn't see it. Now here is something i have wondered...why does the side of a green anaconda look like the print on a jaguar? they dont hunt in the same place. now this is totally off the wall here...but possibly under water this blends in with a reflection of a jaguar getting a drink. it is on the side and anacondas are known for striking to the side...thats what mine does when i teased her..she moved from in front and nailed the little chicken from a 90 degree angle. Food for thought there...nice post crazycody.
