I hope someone here can point something out for me. My females are continually laying eggs about every month now. I have 4 eggs in the incubator, but it looks like they aren't going to make it.
Here is my setup:
damp perlite, 80 humidity
temps between 86-88
they are in a hovabator incubator, right next to another incubator with python eggs, which are doing fine.
The eggs seem to have a "liquid seeping through" look after the first few days, although they are not sweating. After a few more days, I can see a pink spot through the egg, which I assume means they are fertile (I will try candling the next clutch I get). After a few weeks, the eggs started to cave in, mold started to grow a bit, and if picked up the egg will collapse in and not regain its original roundness. All my geckos are just over 1 year old and weigh over 50 grams, I feed dusted mealworms, and they always lay in their humid hide. Any ideas? I'm stumped. Could it be that my 2 females are continually laying slugs? They have both laid 4 eggs so far, and look perfectly white before I put them in the incubator.
