Jackson's Chameleon Cage Size?

ReptiGuy2000 Jun 15, 2003 03:14 PM

what's a good size cage for an adult Jackson's Chameleon? Also, would a male jackson's horns be able to rip through screen if that is what the sides of the cage were made of?

Given free reign on cage sizes I would start with 2 feet deep, four feet wide and 6 feet tall. Make it 4'x4'x7' and your jacksons will be really happy. The horns won't normally rip through screen. Of course, you may end up with the John Wayne of Jacksons, but I have never had a chameleon use it's horns to rip holes. If anything, they get them caught in the screen if the holes are the wrong size.

jacksons seem to have very sensitive horns...they dont like them to touch anything unless they get really mad which they first will try to bite an oppnet then push it off the branch with its horns
