Is that black ratsnake subadult?

I have found tons of ringnecks already this spring. Found 5 today just doing yardwork!! Nice to go herping right here in my own yard!! LOL

The black rats here in KY dont get jet black, they maintain their patterns throughout adulthood. They do turn darker with age, just not jet black. The one pictured is indeed a sub-adult, and was alittle darker than most found in this part of KY. Nice clean snake with no scars.
