You know (Calling the Stork as they say in Xanth)

Erowen and Erik/a were Profiling at each other for a while this morning, I was worried about them so I was keeping an eye on them (to see if I needed to seperate them)
I turned away for a few min to Brush My Daughters hair, and when I looked again, s/he was "snuggling" really close to Erowen. Not directly on her back, a bit to one side, but close
I have seen the babies Dogpile each other. Just hanging out on the same branch, one on top of the other, heads at the same Height, not tails. But that does not involve open mouth, looking Straight up in the air, Profiling on either one of the babies Parts (that is what Erowen was doing, and why I was worried, if she was going to attach Erik/a I wanted to intervene).
Remember this is the one that had that lovely Blue on the Legs when I got it. And there is no agression between Tripod and Erik/a. They were side by side in Quarentine, and in the same tank now. And Tripod is a Defenite Male right? (is he one of yours Marcia?)

They will lay on, next to, beside, each other regardless of gender. It's as if they just view each other as a piece of the tree. However, if they are displaying, throat puffed up, mouth open, etc, there is something else going on. Either Erowen sees Erik/a as a threat or Erik/a is a male and Erowen isn't interested yet and is warning him away. It could just be adjustment since Erowen has had the pad to herself for so long.

Tripod isn't one of mine but I believe Joe purchased him as a female to put with Luke, the one he did get from me. Luke didn't appreciate the male intruder and I believe Tripods leg got broke in the tussle.

I will have to look through my albums and see if I can find the shot of one of my pairs doing "it". It would help you to decide what was going on perhaps. If I don't have it saved off in one of my folders on the hard drive I may have to scan in the print from my show book so it may take a day or two to get at it.

I am betting it is just an adjustment thing and time will work it out. I know the last female I introduced to my group was pretty wild and agressive when I first introduced her but she is much calmer now and is even more tolerant of me.

On the Pics
take your time. I saw no hostility, just the Profiling, then the snuggling on the Ground of the tank (not on a branch)
Erik/a is Smaller (actually quite a bit smaller) than Erowen
if my almost 1yos are 25% of her size, then Erik/a is about 60% of her size
I will have to E-Mail you a pic of the Troops, side by side
Spike is FAT, Tracker has green on a daily basis, and is still skinny, but eats more than Spike
Tripod is a Smidge bigger than Erik/a, but still WAY smaller than Erowen

On another note
Humididity is 70-90 all the time now
but the adults all have some little bits of Shed hanging on
is this bad??
The adults (well anyone not in the water) get a spray daily, sometimes twice a day. And the fogger is working sometimes (its a PitN) but it is scedled to go off 3 times a day, for about an hour each time
The babies Soak in the Pond a lot now (I got Plants for the fish to eat, they float on them, like Beach toys) so I M not worried about them so much
