sexing blue tegu

is there any way i can tell if my tegu is an male or female. it is about 2.5 feet long. thanks

Males tend to have big jowels. The photo is of my blue "Tegan" which is a male. Females tend to have a bit narrower head and jowels. You will notice Tegans jowels are fat and puffy. I am also told that you can feel for what feels like two "bb's" on either side of the vent as well. Other than that, probing is probably the best method but needs to be done by someone with probing experience.
