Yes...playsand is best...make sure its the finest grain you can find though! Also, make sure you feed mealworms in a dish so they aren't gulping down sand when they hunt, and watch to make sure they aren't eating it and there isn't any in their stool.

Leopard Gecko Morph Descriptions

2.3 leos
-0.1 tangerine het rainwater albino w/jungle background (Blinkers)
-0.2 jungles (Vahz & Skissor)
-1.0 tremper albino (Spitfire)
-1.0 tangerine rainwater albino (Bronx)

-ignorance is not to be punished when one is trying to gain knowledge...what scares me is the vast number of people who, when given the information to gain knowledge, choose to ignore it.

if you wanna have a desert type naturalistic you have 3 options.

a) the simplest is using the finest grain playsand you can find
b) make a dirt, sand, vermiculite mixture in a ratio of 2:1:1, i dont know of anyone who has tried this with leos, but proexotics uses for their monitors and it makes a very nice looking substrate. more info at proexotics.com
c) make a fake rock substrate, i dont know how to but ask the people at the beardie forum

You can use sand if you want, but i know you've been around here a while and have heard the warnings. If you choose to ignore them for eye pleasure, thats your decision. Who is accomadating who here? It just seems like most people on here want their animal to accomadate them, when instead it should be the opposite. Remember, whatever happens to you lizard is your responsibility and nobody elses. As for the type of sand, i guess the finest sand you can possibly find is best.

Either go with childrens playsand or something finer(sp) than the playsand.
