Possibly a dumb question...

Squishy Apr 28, 2004 02:34 PM

Okay we recently purchased some of the juvi. pellets for Squishy to try out... Are these supposed to be moistened, or are they supposed to be fed dry?
The only information I've found is that to get a beardie interested in them to soak them in fruit juice. Does that mean always or only until he starts eating them or once he gets used to them start soak them in water?
Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

If the dragon doesnt eat them from just being soaked in water then you should use gatorade to coax them to accept them. then once they become more stable with eating them just soak them in water.

im pretty sure thats how most people do it.

I usually soak them for a minute or so and add to their salad, I use water or pedialite. I also keep a dish of just dry ones in their cage at all times. They'll get the hang of it, it just takes a little time.

He's a gorgeous guy! I soak mine in water, but mine in particular seem to only eat a couple of the wet ones and wait until they dry out.

we soak ours in water and sprinkle on their salads. sometimes they eat them by accident first, then realize they are food.

I sometimes put a pellet on a toothpick and offer it. So far my bd will always pellets that way. I then put him in front of the dish and he chows down. I also hand feed pellets which is pretty fun. I am using RepCal juvenile pellets which claim to have fruit in them and smell kind of like banana. I got him used to them by soaking them in apple juice.
