Is it normal for them to make sounds when eating?

Sohni Apr 28, 2004 04:13 PM

Sorry if I'm asking silly questions, but I'm used to tortoises. Baxter makes noises when he eats. Sort of a cross between a honk and a chirp? Actually pretty loud, too--he's in the kitchen eating right now, and I can hear him from another room. Hey, at least he's eating!

He's a rescue, and just recently started eating, but I'm giving him worms (loves those!), strawberries, mango, mushroom and dandelion. I'm trying to give him what I think will tempt him to eat the most, plus some nutritious greens. I'm not sure if he's eating the dandelion, though. Gotta get the kids out hunting slugs this weekend, lol.
