Is there a hypo CRB? ..(more)

Biophiliacs Apr 28, 2004 07:50 PM

Are CRB's supposed to be unpatterened? Are most CRB's with a BRB type pattern hybrids? I have two adults that I had kept for the last 4 years. My female is more of a red color with pattern, huge around 6.5 ft. My male is the one that I think could be hypo. He has a uniform orange body color and no outwardly visable pattern. It is there, but no black, only a faint white highlight of pattern. They bred last year and for the most part the 13 babies were like their mother. However, 3 showed a weird grey trim on the lateral. I kept one. The trim only got better. I don't have pics today but I will take pics tonight so this all makes sense.

Matt,
. CRBs do have a faint pattern that is similar to the BRB's pattern. CRBs often change from lighter overall color to darker. When they are displaying the lighter overall color the BRB type pattern is usually more visable. Some of them stay dark most of the time and show little or no pattern. CRBs are not supposed to be very reddish colored. CRBs do not commonly exceed 6 feet in length. A Rainbow Boa that is reddish and 6.5 feet long may be a BRBXCRB cross. I have not seen or heard of any Hypo CRBs. Show us some PICs and maybe we can help identify your Rainbows.
Jeff

I haven't had a chance to get some shots of them yet. I just got 8 visions last week and I've been busy setting them up. I have seen Sharp's T Albino on his site many times before, but was never so bold to think that is what I have. However, my male looks very similar. I am far enough into this to go through with proving it out.. I kept back a 1.1 from their first litter, should be ready next year. I'll get my poop in a group and post some pics by this weekend. Who knows, probably nothing.
