Made my choice finally, U. Fimbriatus........

RiverRatt Apr 28, 2004 08:36 PM

Went to town today and was kicking around in the pet stores I seen a 70 gal. Oceanic Lizard Lounge. It is nice. 3 inch vents 2 on each end, 6 acoss the back in two rows, 3 in the back of the top lid a screen stip across the top for a strip light with the glass lids. Has caps that fit all vents to increase humitdity. I was not going to get the floor cabinet but the owner knocked off 100 bucks so I said way cool. It is all in grey/granite. These are some amazing tanks believe me. I like, has cord holes too. Well I needed something to put in it so I have a pair of U. Fimbriatus coming here in the next day or so. I can't wait will put up some pics when I get things set up. Any hints or help on these guys appreciated. I know all the goodies but there may be some veteran tricks to the deal. Thanks

They are quite spectacular, like the uroplatus henkeli, except a wee Bit bigger !

Wish ya a ton of luck with them, and remember to post pics when they arrive, for us all to feast our eyes on!

I have a pair of henkeli, I just love watching them slither around at night. Pretty freaky looking creatures, all these geckos, so dang COOL, and interesting!

Well, I know your just so excited waiting for that special box to arrive, (like a kid at Christmas) I know, the feeling, I just got a couple of those FUN LIVE boxes this week ! haahhahahaa

Never ends!

Me and u are in the same boat ratt, Uro newbies! So any advice I give you is probably irrelevant.

But I am going purchase a 40gallon tall Twin Oaks aquarium w/ all screen top (36x18x13). Planting about 35-40 plants including terrestrial stars, aquatic plants, epiphytes (which bring up the air flow), ferns, spike moss, java moss, and creepers. Unfortunately, since all the plants are relatively young, I won't be getting a satanic trio until next spring. By that time the plants will fill out nicely and give the Uros plenty of cover.
