Charlie and I thank you. I say just a veiled because it seams everyone has one and to me I have only one because I like him he is actally semi personable in that he does not swell everytime you come near and will occasionally take crickets from your arm but seriously thank you this is one of my first posts and love the positive feed back. better then ebay
I'd never describe any cham as "just a ..." They are all uniquely beautiful and interesting characters. Your "run-of-the-mill" veiled is gorgeous and obviously well cared for! If he suits you personality wise all the better! I'd rather have a common species that is healthy and settled than a beauty that is stressy and mean.
He is not just a Veiled he is a very nice Veiled and some of us happen to like them very much.
Very nice picture too.

P.S. Iam lost with out spell check sorry to all those that are defenders of the English language also
Even though veileds are one of the more common chameleons, some of us really like them. I think the underlying tones of the other posts were 'be proud of your little guy, he's gorgeous'.
How old is he in the picture?

Right at a year I think like 13 months. which raises the question how the heck do people get them so huge does genetics play a part I have fed him constantly He eats from a cup that I put dusted Crickets, wax worms, occassionly small meal worms or a pinkie. He ain't huge!!! It doesn't matter to me that he is not mainly because I would not trade him for anything differant I just want him to reach his potential. he also lives in a huge pothos that I know he eats(little bite marks in the shape of his mouth hilarious)
I am lost w/o spell check

The size may simply be genetics. Many breeders select color traits over size, and over time this might result in smaller chams. Also, no captive diet is as varied or substantial as wild ones. There may be micronutrients in wild prey we are missing. Also, "natural selection" probably acts more on wild chams and the larger, stronger, more aggressive males may be the ones who survive to mate more often. In captivity many of these traits are not needed. I wouldn't worry too much about it. You have a beauty.
