I REALLY LIKE MERCURY BULB...

BUT I HEARD POWERSUNS ARE FOR THE ZOO..OR A BIG TANK LIKE 200 GALLONS

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

No. I use two 100W MVBs in my 75 gal tank and I still need another basking lamp. The Powersun MVBs are much cooler than normal flood lamps

I use a 160 "capture the sun" bulb by big apple, temps are fairly high right under it, about 115, but the rest of the cage is still real high 70's to low 80's, in a 40 gallon "breeder" tank.

I used to use a 100 watt in my 40 gallon, but the temps would get really high. I now just use a 60 watt halogen and it works great, keeps temps between 100-110, and keeps the rest of the tank at a good temp.

I use a 160wat in my 60gal tank and a 100wat in my 40gal the 60 gal is half screen top half glass and the 40gal has a full screen top. I also place smooth river rocks under the lights to absorb heat during the day and let it off at night. There is also a thick branch in each tank for my dragons to climb on.

it sounds pretty good to me. 100 watts is ok for 40 gal

but there are so many Powersun kind type light bulbs (UVB Heat)
i guess people call it Mercury Vapor light..

ok, so which of the following brand is the best?

1. Powersun (zoo med)
2. Active UV heat flood (T-Rex)
3. capture the sun
