New emory rats.... lots of pics

Kestrel Apr 29, 2004 03:40 AM

I recently got these guys from Kjun... A 10 year old male Amel, from Soderburg's first clutch, that is in retirement. A good easy 5ft in length and shown downing a jumbo mouse.. KJ gave em to me for 50 bucks, with 1.1 free suprises.. 1.0 boyd x mitchell hypo cross, and 0.1 poss double het amel chocolate... Really nice of him! The old guy is understandably on the thin side, but KJ said he'd been feeding him weanling mice, so I decided to see if he could handle a big meal.. He definatly could use it. lol. It actually isn't all that big for him.. What I would consider an average meal for a snake his size.. So hopefully he'll keep it down and put on a little weight. Anyhow, to the pics..

First, the Old Guy.. I think thats his official name now. lol

Hypo cross, definatly lighter looking... Not calling it hypo, just influenced. heh

and the poss double het, nice and chocolatey colored

The two together to show the difference in color

Very cool snakes. I'm waiting on my pair to finish shedding to see if they're going to do anything for me this year or not. My female has been bred before I got her, and the male hasn't been bred at all yet(virgin!)...oh, by the way...my male came from KJUN too....See, who says great minds don't think alike!
