Proposed ordinance in Slinger, WI

Katrina Apr 29, 2004 05:50 AM

I'll try to get some contact information today if time permits, but just got word on this. This is all the information I have ATT. Most of your boas and larger NA snakes and iguanas would be illegal - and your poison dart frogs would be at the mercy of a judge when he tries to decide between the letter of the law or the intent of the law. Remember, legislation spreads. Helping to fight this ordinance could keep it out of your city.

Proposed change in Ordinance #04-05-04 creating a new section:

"Section 13.072 to read as follows: "It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to keep, maintain or harbor exotic animals..under this section includes, but is not limited to, live alligators, crocodiles, cayman, monkeys, member of the feline species other than the domestic cat...wolf dog hybrids, prairie dog, Gambian rat, venomous snakes, lizards capable of growing to more than 5 feet in length at maturity, non-venomous snakes capable of growing more than 6 feet in length at maturity, venomous invertebrates and venomous amphibians."
