Please help! New Whites Tree Frog

Julie22 Apr 29, 2004 09:04 AM

I just got my first frog, a Whites tree frog. When I brought him home and put him in his tank he was a light shade of green. But by night, he was completely brown. Is this sudden color change normal? Could it be stress? Also, I noticed that on his back and legs, among the brown color is green spots of the color he originally was.
Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

It is normal for a WTF to change to green to a dull green/brown and also can be a blue color. Also on the back legs that is ok it just have not change color yet. And the color of the frog can depend on the temp of the tank and the humidity.

What you described sounds completly normal, especially for a newly aquired whites. Mine still turn green in the day and a darker green/brown at night. I wouldn't be concerned with the color as long as he is eating well/active at night. hope this helps
